After Christmas & New Year’s, I can’t help but start to think about Valentine’s Day. We, as a couple, don’t do anything crazy, as we celebrate and express our love year round (que the gagging noises)… But really, we don’t even exchange gifts.

However, our little guy usually has a Valentine’s Party at school and he gets really excited about it. We make a homemade box for him to receive Valentines & he also loves to give out little Valentines to his friends.

I love looking to blogs & pinterest for inspiration, so I thought I’d share the last couple years of our boxes & Valentines with you all.

1. Minecraft Creeper Box

This box took a lot of green squares & a mess of modpodge to come together. It wasn’t “perfect,” but the kid was happy!

Supplies used:

Green & Black Scrapbook Paper

Modpodge

Foam Paint Brushes

2. Super Mario Piranha Plant Box

We saw a picture of a Piranha Plant Valentine’s Day box on Pinterest and used it for inspiration. Let me tell you… I used so much hot glue and spent several hours on this one. It was a hit!

Supplies used:

2 Large Styrofoam Ball Halves

Red Acrylic Paint

White & Green Foam Paper Sheets

Green Acrylic Paint

Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue Sticks

Empty Pringles Tube

Old Plastic Jar

3. Batman Box with Cape

This box was the easiest of them all. We used construction paper, printed a Batman emblem, and used a cape from an old Batman costume. The tiny batman suckers were made with construction paper, printed emblems (just downsized), and black felt. Super simple!

Supplies Used:

Old Shoe Box

Construction Paper

Black Felt Sheets

Batman Cape

Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue Sticks
